**Job Title: Conventional Machinist** **Job Description** As a Conventional Machinist, you will be responsible for producing machine parts and assemblies according to specifications and drawings. You will perform a variety of machine setups and operations, ensuring the use of statistical methods and quality control to achieve the desired outcomes. **Responsibilities** + Perform a variety of machine setups and operations. + Document machine setup data, maintain related records and files, and update as needed. + Ensure the use of statistical methods or quality control. + Work to close tolerances and select speeds, feeds, and tools for varying conditions according to reference manuals or materials for machine setups. + Read and interpret conditions defined in reference manuals, drawings, and related materials to produce parts. + Inspect and replace tools as required. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency and experience in operating a manual lathe and milling machine. + 5+ years of experience preferred. + Experience with manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses. + Ability to meticulously measure and mark raw materials before cutting, drilling, or shaping them to achieve exact dimensions and tolerance. + Keen understanding of mechanical drawings. + Ability to perform precise measurements using instruments such as calipers and micrometers. + Thorough knowledge of machining processes and materials. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic and engaging work environment where precision and craftsmanship are valued. Please note that the environment can become very hot during the summer season. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Valley Center, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
