Director of Communications

Full Time | Reports to Executive Director

We’re seeking a creative, strategic, and spiritually grounded Director of Communications & Ministry Support to help us live out that mission through excellent communication and collaborative leadership.

About the Role

The Director of Communications & Ministry Support plays a vital role in connecting our congregation and community to the life and mission of Christ Church. This position leads the development and delivery of key messages, directs our communication strategies across all media, and supervises a talented ministry support team.

You’ll work closely with ministry leaders to ensure that every message—whether in print, online, or from the platform—reflects our identity, inspires engagement, and helps people grow in faith.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver compelling messages that advance the mission and vision of Christ Church.
• Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans for major church seasons and events (Advent, Lent, Easter, Stewardship, etc.).
• Oversee all communication channels—print, web, social, and digital—ensuring quality, consistency, and creativity.
• Supervise and develop a ministry support team, fostering collaboration and excellence.
• Serve as Technical Director for live-streamed services and provide consultation for other online ministries.
• Manage communication budgets and establish metrics for ministry effectiveness.
• Maintain and refresh Christ Church’s visual and brand identity.
• Contribute actively to leadership and ministry planning teams.

Qualifications

• Strong background in communications, marketing, or related field (experience in church or nonprofit setting preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Excellent design, writing, and digital media skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing technologies.
• A collaborative spirit and commitment to the mission of Christ Church United Methodist.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
