Our **Sacramental Priest** positionsare critical to the success of St. Joseph's Medical Center and require the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. The **Sacramental Priest** is a full member of the health care team, sharing in the healing mission of the Dignity Health San Joaquin-Sierra Spiritual Services department. This position assesses the Catholic sacramental needs, provides counsel, educates and ministers to patients, their families, and physicians, co-workers and members of the community, as required. **Qualifications** **REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor's degree including theological classes required + Experience, preferably in a hospital setting, working as part of a team + Ordained Catholic priest in good standing + Some understanding of other denominations and faiths required + Experience, preferably in a hospital setting, working as part of a team + Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills + Knowledge of spiritual care practices as well as general office practices, including records management + Familiarity with current medical ethical issues and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Facilities **PREFERRED:** + Master's degree preferred **Overview** St. Joseph's Medical Center is a member of Dignity Health.
