Job Description

Are you a bourbon enthusiast and troublemaker? Join our GROWING TEAM at Good Trouble Bourbon (GTB)and help drive sales and brand recognition at our rapidly growing company. We are hiring a Sales/Brand Ambassador for the Chicagoland area to drive excitement and engagement for Good Trouble Bourbon in the top 50-75 accounts in the Chicagoland market, delivering distribution, depletions and visibility objectives. What you will do:

  • Work in the field 4 days a week selling Good Trouble Bourbon to designated accounts individually or with distributor sales colleagues. Utilize sales presentations and tools provided. Focus is:
  • On Premise new account distribution.
  • Selling Menu placements on- premise.
  • Retail Distribution / Shelf Management / Display Management.
  • Staff Training’s - GTB should be highly recommended by account staff as result of your work with them.
* Meet monthly business objectives:
  • Conduct a minimum of 16 staff training sessions each month.
  • Conduct a minimum of 6 samplings each month (liquid to lips) for account partners to help generate brand awareness, trial and sell through.
  • Monthly depletions goals will be set.
  • Record results and share weekly recaps. Prepare a monthly overview for the GTB team.
  • Ensure all GTB brand point of sale materials are implemented in designated accounts to assist with visibility and sell through of brands. Work with the GTB team to develop materials that will engage consumers in your account universe.
  • Represent the brand in trade shows, trade festivals or consumer facing festivals as the opportunity arises. Identify shows, etc. to participate in.
  • Manage brand promotional and T&E budget for your designated accounts. Ensure investment is equal to or under budget. Review recaps each month with the GTB team.
  • Conduct team meetings (training/ tasting’s/review target account work). Work in field with distributor sales force to replicate our team efforts and “win the hearts and minds” of our distributor sales colleagues.
  • Represent Good Trouble Bourbon with the highest of integrity and in a professional manner consistent with the brand mission. We value diversity, creativity and a commitment to excellence.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or marketing preferred.
  • At least 3 years of previous sales or brand ambassador experience – Candidates must demonstrate a balance between relationship building, consultative selling in high end environments and the ability to close and ask for the order. Candidates with experience in the wine & spirits retail environment or on premise (bar, restaurant or hotel) will also have strong consideration.
  • Experience as a bartender / mixologist preferred.
  • Candidates will demonstrate a successful sales track record – increasing distribution and revenue for brands.
  • Candidates will be computer literate: proficient in VIP, Microsoft Outlook – word, excel, PowerPoint; plus, email management.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to create and manage their own schedules to reach set objectives.
  • Candidates must be comfortable in a highly fluid environment launching a brand with multiple stakeholders.
  • Candidates should have a high degree of emotional intelligence and adapt presentation and communication styles to the audience in which they are engaged - be it our brand owners / leadership teams, account owners/buyers or distributor partners.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage budgets.
  • Must be able to lift cases of spirit brands and merchandise (10-50 pounds) in order to assist building displays at retail or set up for trade shows and festivals.
  • May travel outside of designated territory to represent the brand

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle – driving to and from accounts is a key requirement of employment.
